First things first: We’re having another live Q+A session on Tuesday, September 5th.  I love connecting with our community of innovative creators and brands.

It won’t be the same with out you and your voice, so make sure to register.

Now, back to today’s tea…

No one will tell you this, but imposter syndrome, in some forms, isn’t necessarily bad.

IMPOSTER SYNDROME CAN BE A GOOD THING.

I know that sounds ridiculous, but hear me out.

Imposter syndrome is described as feeling like a fake or imposter despite achieving high levels of success. Reflecting on this, it’s easy to skip over a few details:

#1. This person feeling this emotion is high-achieving. If they haven’t achieved anything before, then it’s not really imposter syndrome.

And #2 (which is the most crucial detail to me) this person is taking ANOTHER risk to achieve even more.

As you know, I’m an attorney, so I’d like to present a case before you today:

Imposter syndrome is a NECESSARY

by-product of greatness. 🎤

If you are going to do anything that matters, anything that grows you, or anything that reveals the greatness hiding inside you, you will experience imposter syndrome.

That means it is not something to be avoided. It is something to be embraced.

It shows that you are engaging with life and daring to be more than you are.

It shows that you are evolving.

It shows that you are the kind of person our world needs.

The problem is not imposter syndrome; the problem is allowing it to control you.

No one great started that way. It took facing the fear and the feelings you are facing right now.

I’ve had conversations with six- and seven-figure clients who told me how unqualified and confused they’ve felt during their journeys. But these clients did not quit. They chose to move despite the discomfort they felt.

In moving, these people have encountered better, stronger versions of themselves.

And that’s what so many of you are doing. Moving and becoming better leaders, better stewards, and better builders.

Now, you be the judge. Have you come across more stories of successful people who have had to deal with imposter syndrome?

And for you, what do you personally think about imposter syndrome? When you’ve felt it, how have you responded in the past? How will you respond in the future?

Hit reply and make your case :)

Until next time!
